DePuy Hip Replacement Lawsuit: Over 10,000 People May Be Affected

DePuy Orthopedics, a division of Johnson & Johnson, recently recalled the following hip replacement products:

• ASR XL Acetabular System – a hip socket used in traditional hip replacement.
• ASR Hip Resurfacing System – a partial hip replacement that involves placing a metal cap on the ball of the femur, a method intended to preserve more bone.

Hip replacement lawyers say that the failure rate of these hip replacements is a staggering 12 to 13 percent. With nearly 100,000 consumers who have undergone hip replacement surgery in which DePuy hip replacement products were used, that means over 10,000 people may have to undergo painful hip replacement surgery – again.

DePuy Hip Replacement Lawsuit: Who's Responsible?

Numerous DePuy hip replacement lawsuits have already been filed against the company alleging that the ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System are defective, that DePuy knew about the high rate of failure, that it did not institute a recall soon enough and that it failed to warn consumers about DePuy hip replacement injuries.
